OBJECTIVE

As both a tech writer and a software developer, my primary aim has always been to simplify technology and make it more accessible. It’s motivated me to pursue projects, build tools, and write content that can reach people from various backgrounds and skill levels. As a content writer, the first two blogs I contributed to were DottechOrg.com and MakeTechEasier.com, which both aligned with my mission statement, allowing me to further it.

This ethos is also visible in the software I write, as I’ve always endeavoured to deliver intuitive user experiences through clear, self-documenting code. However, over the years, I’ve learned that it’s not enough to let the code speak for itself. It should always be accompanied by clear, comprehensively written documentation that’s well maintained and updated as changes are made.

Creating usage guides, API documentation, and managing knowledge bases aren’t tasks that many software developers enjoy or are even equipped to perform. However, they’re vital aspects of the software’s life-cycle and existence.

Having a significant background in development enables me to untangle the technical complexities of software and IT, so I can effectively translate and communicate them to other developers and end users. My background in tech writing makes it easier for me to document code and processes throughout the development cycle.

I’m looking to collaborate with a company that can help me leverage my considerable experience and skills to improve user experiences with technology.

WORK EXPERIENCE

February 2022 – Current:
Technical Writer | Draft.Dev

As a technical writer for Draft.Dev, my responsibilities include crafting high-quality 1500+ word technical articles for a wide variety of established clients in the software and tech Industry. I’ve written tutorials, roundups (listicles), reviews, and guides designed to showcase the capabilities of our clients’ products. In addition to written content, I’m also responsible for drafting architecture diagrams, capturing and annotating screenshots and video content, building software implementations, and producing code samples. Some notable clients I’ve written for include Bright Data, Snyk, Foxit, and Hygraph.

September 2020 – July 2025:
Technical Writer | WellPCB and OurPCB

My responsibilities as a part-time writer for WellPCB (and its sister companies) included creating and editing search engine-optimized (SEO) electronic engineering guides and blog articles. I was also tasked with enhancing the quality of published articles in addition to creating new evergreen content. Initially, a large bulk of the content I worked on revolved around printed circuit boards (PCBs) and their fabrication. However, as WellPCB’s services expanded, their content evolved to include broader topics such as wire harnesses, enclosures, and additive manufacturing – which are all topics I covered during my stint.

February 2014 – Current:
Freelancer | Self-Employed

I began freelancing as a programmer, blogger, and tech writer after leaving my position at Corefreight. While a large portion of my time was dedicated to creating search engine-optimized technical content, I also worked on a wide variety of short programming projects and network administrative tasks.

As a copywriter and content writer, I covered topics that ranged from programming to gaming. Notable works and clients include two white papers for Hitachi, a collection of articles for SPW centered around data retention and IT recycling, B2B content for BlueTree, and Cloud Infrastructure Services. Please visit my portfolio to see more examples of my work.

June 2010 – April 2013:
Mid-level System Analyst and Programmer | CoreFreight Systems

My primary responsibilities included software development and programming, as well as the modification, installation, and maintenance of CoreFreight’s logistics software.

My other duties involved cooperating with and supporting personnel in the resolution of user problems, including the provision of Helpdesk and infrastructure support. An important aspect of my responsibilities in this regard required me to run application and database backups, and remote and on-site software installations.

Some notable tools and applications I used included Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Forte 4GL, Java (SE and EE), Maven, NetBeans, and Visual Studio. The software development team collaborated using an agile approach, with daily scrum meetings and Kanban software to keep track of our tasks. As I reached seniority in the company, I became involved with onboarding and mentoring new talent.
